Support · VeryWWW for Chrome

Write to hello@verywww.com. VeryWWW is made by one person, so the reply comes from the person who makes it. Say which version you have (Settings → About) and what you expected to happen.

Getting started

VeryWWW works in Chrome 116 or later on a computer. After you add it, open a new tab. Setup asks a few questions, or “Skip setup” takes you straight to the page. The coloured dot with your wall’s name opens Settings.

Shortcuts

On the new tab, click the page, then press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) for the command bar. Chrome starts a new tab in the address bar, so the click comes first. Alt+X opens the side panel beside any page, and Alt+Shift+F starts a focus session. Change them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.

Keeping a copy, or moving computers

Settings → Privacy & data → Export saved content saves one file with your setup, Canvas and Shelf. On the other computer, Restore from backup in the same place shows what the file holds before anything changes. Turn on Chrome sync there to keep your tools, prompts and settings in step.

Calendars

Add a calendar by its private subscription address from Google Calendar, Outlook or iCloud, or import an .ics file. A subscription refreshes about every 30 minutes.

Why Chrome asks for permission

VeryWWW asks only when you turn on something that needs it, such as your open tabs, a calendar provider or Spotify’s web player. Saying no leaves everything else working. The extension privacy notice lists each permission and why.

Summaries and rewriting

“Summarise this page” and “Rewrite selection” use Chrome’s built-in AI, which runs on your computer. Where Chrome doesn’t offer it yet, VeryWWW says so.

Now playing

Now playing works with Spotify’s web player. Keep an open.spotify.com tab open and signed in, then press Connect Spotify on the Now playing card.

Removing VeryWWW

Export saved content first if you want to keep anything. Then go to chrome://extensions and choose Remove on VeryWWW. Chrome’s own new tab comes back, and what VeryWWW stored in this browser is deleted.
